INSTALLATION DOCUMENTS
Renowned: The Morimoto Elite Systems have earned their reputation amongst many as the aftermarket's best set of HID's. We urge you to check out the specs below, read the reviews, and then ask yourself whether your ability to see well while driving at night is worth saving a couple bucks?
HID Ballasts: Designed in California by Morimoto's engineer, Yoshi Ishida, the Morimoto XB 2.0 HID Ballasts are just as good looking on the outside as they are well-engineered on the inside. They are available in both 35w and 50w versions, use proprietary software by the pros at Hylux paired with packaging perfection from the masters at Morimoto. This is today's most modern iteration of a model that has sold more than half a million units since inception, and we don't think it can really get any better!
XB HID Bulbs: Homegrown by Morimoto to out-perform any alternatives on the market when installed in fog lights--and it shows. We admit the latest generation XB HID are pretty impressive when compared to other bulbs, and even older Morimoto bulbs. At the heart of the XB bulbs is their perfectly-aligned 100% Philips quartz glass capsule that houses high quality halide salts from German-supplier Messer. In our annual lux comparison test, they produced nearly the same lumin Osity (intensity) as the industry benchmark Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K. No, you're not seeing things here, but yes you will be seeing everything at night.
Wire Harness: As one of the most important parts in any HID lighting upgrade; don't skimp out when it comes to your wiring. It doesn't matter how good your ballasts are. How good your bulbs are. If your harness is a piece of crap, when it gives out your fog lights are gonzo. Morimoto's harnesses are the best on the market and easily worth their premium price compared to cheaper alternatives. No matter which one is right for your application, the harness features triple-sealed central relay packs, 14ga stranded copper wiring, over-molded fittings, and plug-n-play functionality. This will ensure everything properly (and permanently) works with your vehicle's original in-cabin controls.
Optional Canbus Harnesses: Instead of a traditional relayed harness that draws power from the battery, Morimoto's Standalone Canbus harnesses use two individual sub-harnesses to keep a load on the factory wiring. Recommended for vehicles that recognize when a bulb is out, these contain a series of capacitors and resistors to trick the car into thinking nothing has changed and help you avoid annoying "bulb out" warnings. We generally recommend them for use on most modern European applications instead of normal harnesses since they do a great job at providing stable power to the ballasts and canceling any warnings.
Backed Up: Let's not forget the 5-year warranty on the entire kit*. The Elite system is designed to run for 2500 hours, so that's what it's guaranteed for. Don't buy into empty promises from other places offering BS "lifetime" warranties. Nothing lasts forever, and if you think "the other guy" will be there to pick up the phone or even stay in business long enough to assist you when there's a problem; guess again! [*XB55 880 HID kits have a 3 year warranty]
User-Approved: By satisfied enthusiasts with all kinds of cars and trucks. With a quick and easy search we pulled up install examples (1,2,3,4,5,6) that span several generations of the Elite HID systems! If you haven't made a decision just yet, keep reading!

Read nothing but great things about these HID kits and I'm finally getting one for my Toyota Corolla, low beam and fog lights. Also outstanding customer service from this site and very helpful.

I ordered the 9006: Morimoto Elite HID System and unfortunately had not had the chance to install them on my car by myself but, I took it to an aftermarket shop and when they were installed It looked amazing. I have to tell you, the quality is just ridiculously good. It is very bright, even without specific Xenon projectors the flicker is very sexy at startup. I have a 2008 Honda Accord V6 EX-L 4 Door and the 5000K temperature goes along extremely well with my car. I would also like to buy these HID's for my fog lights but they are a little out of my price range so I will wait. DO NOT get eBay crap, in my opinion, Morimoto is the best HID company out there. For this price, and the 5 year warranty that they offer, this kit is just unbeatable.
Overall, this kit looks sexy on my 2008 Honda Accord and if I can get a good discount for another pair of these lights from TheRetroFitSource I'll buy myself another pair.
Thanks TheRetroFitSource, definitely not a waste of time OR money,
-Alex

I purchased the 9006 kit in 5000K white for my 2010 Honda Civic and it is the best HID kit I have ever dealt with. It is noticeably brighter than other peoples Ebay sourced kits and mine always turns on versus the others where they have to turn the headlights on and off multiple times to get both bulbs to come on. There is no trace of blue in the 5000K bulbs so you won't have the cheesy blue looking bulbs found in lesser quality kits. I recently purchased a 9003/H4 kit in 5000K white for my 2004 Honda CR-V and two H11 kits in 3000K yellow for my fog lights in both vehicles for contrast to my low beams.

I purchased this kit knowing it would be top notch since I have already done a full projector retrofit on my wife's car using all parts from TRS, just want to put in two cents for this kit as well.
Construction of all parts is excellent. The Morimoto 5five ballasts I chose with this kit are as close to OEM quality as I have ever seen. Warm up time is quick, and the ballasts do not even run warm, let alone hot like the cheap kits.
The heavy duty wiring harness is in fact heavy duty. The wiring is actually of a thick gauge and properly sheathed, unlike ebay kits.
The OSRAM rebased bulbs, when compared to the factory halogen HIR2 (9012) bulbs, are aligned precisely and are extremely solid.
I am not sure I can say enough about TRS customer service either. I had the unfortunate experience of breaking a bulb (completely my mistake) when installing this kit in a hurry. TRS was happy to talk to me on the phone and get me a new set of bulbs shipped immediately.
I also discovered that my car uses pulsing DRL, rather than low voltage. A quick chat with TRS customer support and the plug-n-play capacitor I needed was on its way.
If you are thinking of going with a cheap ebay kit to save some money, trust me you won't in the end. Just go with TRS and know that you are in excellent hands. Their equipment and customer service is second to none.

I purchased this kit (6000k) a few days ago and I was amazed as to how this kit was made. The ballasts seemed rock-solid and the heavy duty relay harness is definitely heavy duty. This kit is one of the best HID kits I've purchased and I've had several HID kits in the past. I installed the kit and it worked great! I got the 35w and it was really bright. The 6000k is very white, with a slight tint of blue. The installed was fairly easy, just a bit of difficulty but because it went in a 2009 Civic Si and there is very limited space in the engine compartment. I would definitely recommend this kit to anyone looking for HIDs. Great HID kit and outstanding customer service!

Installation was fairly easily on 2010 Accord coupe. I removed the front bumper for the sake of placement of the ballastst, although as others have said, one can access the low beams through the fender well. The difference between these 5000k 35w HIDs vs the OEM halogens really is ten fold. The gen 8 Accord coupe comes with Acura TSX projectors that make a beautiful cut off and 'color flicker' effect when driving up to itt. Although I'm sure there are better aftermarket projector lenses out there, I have been very impressed with this HID kit and the TSX projectors. TRS was also very helpful when I called up with a question regarding the bulbs firing up at slightly different times but only when turning the car on in darkness so the ballasts try and fire at the same time the engine is cranking. The answer is that I'm just going to deal with it. It seems to be a common problem and has to do with the higher power needed to initially ignight the bulbs, something the guy I spoke with mentioned ails his own car. I should note I'm using the relay. I doubt using the can bus will be much different. It's worth noting with the relay the passenger side bulb (furthest from battery) is the one that takes just a hair longer to fire properly. There's nothing wrong with the wiring (supposedly) so as long as you can deal with a slight flicker on crank then this is an absolutely great setup. -1 star for the heavy power draw that seems to be causing "flickery" fire up when starting car, otherwise they're perfect.

My only complain is the quality of the bulb base. Top notch relay harness and ballast for the money you are paying. Customer service is also great.

I just purchased this system for my 2006 silverado. this kit is excellent! the light is super white and improves night driving so much. The only complaint i have is that the kit doesnt have any instructions. TRS recommends you go to the website to print directions but even the website doesnt provide much help. However, ONE call to TRS; and the tech support knew exactly the answer i needed. and within 2 minutes of talking to a real person (no recordings at all) i was on my way and smooth sailing the rest of the way.
my problem was that this kit comes with an extra wire harness and it was confusing the living crap out of me. once i called the tech support number they told me to cut the xtra harness and everything was good. i cant say enough for the tech support. a+++. thanks guys. this would have been a very easy install had it not been for the xtra wire harness. otherwise it was just easy.

I finally upgraded to HID's and was very impressed by the 6k's i got here!
i have seen a lot of HID kits that are very poor and some that have bulbs that are different colors when they are soposed to be the same!
with the 9006: Morimoto Elite HID System everything is perfect.
i can see 10X better at night with these HID's compared to halogen bulbs!
I recommend these to everyone!!!

AMAZING! Installed on a 99-02 Silverado in the stock housings. Minimal glare in those ones! 100X the light than the halogens! I got the 5000K to avoid "too blue" and to get a nice white out of them. They are perfect! Would recommend them to anyone! Also a well built quality kit!
