INSTALLATION DOCUMENTS

It's 2.0 Clock At TRS we love good old HID-powered projectors more than Kanye loves Kanye... BUT....Truth be told, The new M LED 2.0 is the best Bi-LED projector in the retrofitting world. At the same time, it's better than any Bi-xenon. Put simply it's hard not to like the new M LED 2.0. The performance unparalleled. The simplicity is sublime. The ease of installation is excellent. The instant on is awesome. The original M LED was great when it came out, but by today's standards it's no longer on the leaderboard. Now it's two-point-o time!

Output Advantage: We'll just start with the hotspot. It's brighter than a D2S 5.0 with a CBI and 50w ballast, and 10% brighter than it's closest LED based competitor. The Kuria optic clear lens and koito-esque beam shaper produce a beam pattern that's way wider than a D2S 5.0 too. Their ECE-sloped beam pattern is super sharp and colorful. You can expect up to 83,000 peak CD--that is a lot of light.

Distribution: Width and intensity are common characteristics that are easy to engineer and explain, but it's important not to downplay the importance of distribution! 80% of the optical engineering hours went into optimizing the way that every last lumen ended up on the road in the name of maximizing visibility both up ahead and off to the sides of the road. Each facet of the M LED 2.0's dual reflector bowl was carefully considered (and re-considered, and re-considered again) to ensure that the results were nothing short of perfection (both by the numbers, and subjectively). Yoshi Ishida, Morimoto's chief engineer, Yoshi Ishida, you nailed it.

Easy Install: The threaded mounting shaft has been extended to 27.2mm in length and can be removed from the projector to free up more than an inch of depth for those who don't need/want it. It comes with a CNC machined lock ring and an optional tool for easy-tightening. H4 alignment-adapter comes standard, but it's easy to setup in any other fog light too. The active-cooling fan is sunk into the heat sink, keeping space to a minimum without sacrificing the ability to stay cool. The wiring is clean, out of the way, and can be disconnected with ease.

Simplicity: Forget about separate bulbs. Forget about big ballasts, or where to mount them. Forget about complex relay harnesses, and where to run them. Here, you've got the projector and a small external LED driver to regulate power and control its function. If you're a clutter-phobe, or simply tight on space working on something like a motorcycle: the M LED 2.0 is the way to go.

Details: From the weather-tight grommet on the wiring to the blue-anodized lock ring, nothing was left behind. The lens holder looks great, the grille on the reflector bowl is unnecessarily beautiful. The geometry on the vanes on the heat sink were aligned to maximize air-flow and minimize temperatures. The abundance of precise, die-cast and CNC machined parts (rather than stamped) in the entire system makes for a slop-free setup and conveys quality over cost savings. It may be built for retrofitters, but the fit and finish is on-par with any OEM projector.

Worth it? If you want the latest and greatest, Then yes. It is. Go for a comparable Bi-xenon setup and you'll need to buy big money bulbs, ballasts, and a relay harness for about the same price. Go for something like the UPS Power Plus Bi-LED / Hybrid laser projectors and you'll spend much more and can forget about an easy install. Morimoto's M LED 2.0 projectors may seem expensive on the surface, but you pay for what you get, and all things considered, they've got the most bang for the buck in the business right now .

Love these lights!

by -

At first, I was a little hesitant to switch from HID to LED since my HID at 55w is extremely bright. I pulled the trigger and will never go back! I absolutely love these lights. Both bright and wide they seem every bit as bright as my D2S 5.0 55w and when paired with the MINI HB LED as an additional HB the high beam output is insane! Thanks to the staff at TRS for all their help during this build.

Perfect for my Retrofit

by

I swapped out the low beam only factory projectors on my lexus with the MLED 2.0. The improvement is insane. I also love the look the AR coated lenses give my housings. OEM+ ftw.

The BEST headlights I've ever seen in my LIFE!

by -

I originally bought LED bulbs for my reflector headlights and thought they were good, but then I met a friend with these MLED projectors in his car... HOLY S%#!? these things are bright! I ordered a set for myself that night, installed them as soon as I got them, and have been loving my night drives ever since! If you're on the fence, these projectors will NOT let you down!

Factory HID to Bi-LED

by

TOP NOTCH service from TRS and a premium product from morimoto. these were retrofitted into a 2010 Mazda RX-8 since the factory reflector bowls were burnt. after a bit of cutting and test alignment, these proved to be THE best BI-LED projector on the market bar none. a high shoutout to Aaron from customer service for taking care of me during this entire retrofit.

Absolutely amazing!

by -

I came here to write the review because it seems like I can't review these on Morimoto's website.

I'm not sure if TRS is directly related to Morimoto, but it seems like it from the emails I've gotten from both companies.

If you have decent knowledge with tools, and have the basics (ratchet and socket set, rotary tool, rivet gun, etc.) then these are perfect for you! I couldn't have been happier about any lights.

I already have aftermarket assemblies on my vehicle, so installation was VERY different from videos shown online. Going from halogen, to plug and play LED, to hid, none were adequate to what I wanted... until the mled 2.0 came along.

If my next vehicle doesn't have premium lighting already, I will immediately begin retrofitting these into it. There are absolutely no corners cut with these lights, and you DEFINITELY get what you pay for with these.

Finally an LED projector that is worth it!

by

Bought these for a car i just bought. I had a pair of EvoX-R with Denso 35W and CBI bulbs on my other car. I haven't compared them head to head but even if i think the CBI would be a lil bit brighter, the way the light is distributed on the road and the very nice pure white with no color changing or dark spot is fantastic!
It's not as bright as some high end OEM Bi-LED projectors but at that price it's definitely better than any other HID retrofit and providing the same brightness! A good pair of ballasts + bulbs that you'll have to change from time to time as it's gonna get yellowish and less bright is too expensive and not interesting anymore. Although, i just hope reliability will not be an issue as HID is well known and rock stable if well installed with quality components.
Final words: low beam is a real pleasure to drive with and high beam is kinda impressive compared to the EvoX-R!
Thanks TRS! Still a very strong company that never deceive over the years!
Wish you the best!

Excellent Luminosity

by

These were purchased as an upgrade of Bi-xenon: Morimoto Mini H1 5.0 purchased in 2012. These Bi-xenons provided excellent service and the the Bi-LED: Morimoto M LED 2.0 (LHD) were put into new housings for a 2010 MINI Cooper, and they cast light crisply on the road. The cutoff line is sharp and the high beam switch is responsive.

Worth every penny and every bit of effort.

by

I live in the country so proper lighting helps me avoid deer and moose. The factory halogen lights in my 2019 Ford Transit were not up to the task. These LED projectors are a HUGE upgrade. I think they even outperform the 2.5” lens FX-R in my ol’ 2011 F150. Once again TRS has the best stuff!

04 wrx Retro, best decision made.

by

I did over a year researching surrounding these. I had halogens originally and swapped them for the cheapish Prime Motoring projector housings which were made decent enough with the morimoto hid kit. But these make even Subaru's oem expensive 'limited only trim' look like a waste of money. Why is safety not standard? Get these if you want amazing performance, without having to deal with HIDs. The lowbeam is great, wide crisp white. With high beam, they outperform my led bars even. These are no joke and worth every penny.

Another Awesome product form TRS.

by

Simply amazing. Much brighter than original equipment. I was concerned about the fit in an NB1 Miata. I imagine this would not be to everyones taste, but it is exactly what I wanted. It was a very tight fit but worked without too much modification. Also the E55-R shroud fit with only very minor trim. Very pleased.
