No Comparison: When it comes to HID bulbs, Morimoto has always brought us the best in the aftermarket, and their latest examples are no exception. Sure we think the options from Philips and Osram are great too, but when it comes to bang for the buck - nothing compares to the Morimoto XB HID lineup. Compatible with 35W and 55W: The XB's will produce more lumens, last longer, project farther, and look better doing it.
Lumin Osity: At the heart of the XB H1 bulbs is their perfectly aligned 100% Philips quartz glass that houses a capsule from APL-USA. Using high quality halide salts from German-supplier Messer, the bulbs produce nearly the same lumin Osity (intensity) as the amazing Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K. No, you're not seeing things here, but yes you will be seeing everything at night. In our comparison to the big brands, Morimoto's XB capsule ran with the best of em!
Long Life: The Austrian-sourced Plansee electrodes help keep the bulbs running brighter for longer. In comparison to a Philips bulb with 200 hours of use, the Morimoto will maintain 83% of it's intensity whereas the Philips bulb will retain 86%. Yeah, the Philips maintains a little longer, but this kind of longevity is unheard of in the aftermarket. We're impressed!
Precise Alignment: Morimoto's Symmetry-Structure frame surrounds the base of the glass capsule keeping everything properly lined up, which is paramount when it comes to HID bulbs. In the past we all agreed that precision wasn't the strong suit for the XB bulbs... But the latest are indeed the greatest - and they're now consistently well-aligned, which is a good thing - because it means the output is also consistently bright and uniform throughout. [Applause]
Industry Standard: The XB replacement HID bulbs are built to industry-standard size specifications and are compatible with all ballasts with "AMP" outputs - making them a perfect match for a replacement bulb or upgrade! We've tested them here in the shop for reliability with all ballasts from Morimoto, Hylux, ACME, Denso, Hella, Bosch, and Koito and passed with ease.

Amazing !
by Leslie
I bought a pair of what were suppose to be 5500K HID but they looks way more blue than I wanted them to be. So I came over to TRS because of the great reviews and boy was I blown away not only was it the right color they were even brighter. The build quality is second to none in my opinion. i even rock a TRS decal on my vehicle now.
Dissapointing

They changed the base so now the wire is molded to the bulb... I have used 3 sets of these bulbs without the wire and it was breeze to install with the holders but now with the wire in the way it's almost impossible to replace the bulbs cuz the wire knocks loose the holder before you can screw the lock on now I have to pull my bumper and remove my lights just to replace the bulbs.....
Close enough to 5 stars
by Jukka Korva
The build quality and packaging on these is way more OEM like compared to the old 3fives (which are the acme bulbs nowaday I guess). Another nice thing are the removable cables which makes installing these a lot easier, especially on the H1 minis. Light output also seems good although , but have to wait for them to properly burn in first.
The only bad thing I can say about these is that they didn't fit my Mini H1's. I had to sand the base on both bulbs to make them go in all the way. Still not that big of a problem, but enough to take away 0.5 stars if it was possible, so rounded up it still makes 5.
Excellent bulbs!!!

Bought these for an older retrofit using Morimoto Mini H1 projectors, but I ran other brand HIDs. The other brand HIDs would flicker randomly & after a few months I had figured out the bulbs were bad. So I had some spare $$$ and ordered up the Morimoto XB bulbs in 5500k. After they burned in the light output is incredible, even with my cheap ballasts. 5500K is damn near perfect white output, with just a smidge of color when looking at the front of the vehicle. I really wish I bought these sooner & I will continue to buy for my future projects. These bulbs along with the Morimoto Mini H1 projectors really make it a joy to drive at night.
Huge improvement even with B-Stock projectors
by Nikolas
This was a tough purchase to justify given that I spent less than their asking price on the rest of the retrofit. As such, I initially went with generic H1 bulbs from a popular auction site.
You get what you pay for. There were hot spots right in front of the car, and opening the high beam shutters made almost no impact on the output. Every H1 HID I've seen has a little side-to-side up-and-down "play", but no amount of adjustment could get the generic bulbs right in this instance.
I decided to bite the bullet and buy the XB lamps. The biggest difference with these is in what I would call the Z-axis (depth into the projector bowl), which you can't adjust without modifying the base of the bulb. In short, these lamps sit at the perfect depth inside the projector. It is critical that the arc be perfectly in the focal point of the projector, and these lamps do just that. The difference in output when switching to these was huge.
There are a number of subtle benefits to the XB lamps (color is more accurate, removable wires, etc.), but that positioning of the arc relative to the focus of the projector is absolutely critical. I highly recommend these to anyone with any of the Morimoto H1 projectors, even discontinued or B-Stock units.
Impressive

The difference between an eBay bulb and an ACME is night and day, and I'm with Pascal, the difference between an ACME bulb and these is night and day! I have the ACME Speedystart ballasts, Mini H1 6.0 projectors, and replaced the ACME bulbs with these, wow is all I can say. Absolutely 100% impressed at the clarity, brightness, and quality of these XB bulbs. It was like having a new retrofit again but for much cheaper.
MASSIVE upgrade from 3Fives
by Nicholas
Swapped out my 4300K 3Fives for these in 5500K. Right off the bat, the quality of these bulbs blows the old 3Fives out of the water. I like the removable wiring, makes pulling the light out for any reason a lot easier.
Bulbs definitely put out a bit more lumens than the 3Fives. worthwhile upgrade for $40
OEM look and BRIGHT ASF
by ruben palisoc
I recently purchased these Moris H1 @4500k for a factory look to keep it low key but also get the maximum lumens output. Paired it with the Morimoto XB55 ballasts bc the last owner of my car installed these cheap Zentecs 35w with 6000k, which flickers a lot and poorly made.. AND ridiculously screams riceboy blue. XB55 ballasts with these XB 4500k, the output is exactly what I was looking for and accurate as per what TRS described them to be. It's definitely a warm white light. I did experiment with the 35w zentecs on these bulbs and fully warmed up, it still gives a blue hue@4500k. With the XB55w, it's a pure bright warm white light output with great visibility, max lumens. 10x better than the 6000k the car came with. I know everyone has their preferences. But some like me, want that OEM look, functional and more useful light output than blueish 6k/8k setup. It looks very much OEM and has that clean output. You will not be disappointed. If however you want an even more extremly pure white look, I wouldn't doubt the 5000k with the 55w ballasts would be the perfect match. I'm very satisfied with my setup. Fast shipping as well.
