INSTALLATION DOCUMENTS

Ride On! Based on our most popular retrofit kit for cars and trucks, but idealized for a bike, the Morimoto Motorcycle Stage II kit comes with everything you'd need to convert a dual-headlight Motorcycle to a double low/high system using bi-xenon projectors. Nothing like dual low beams and dual high beams! Never before has the night ride been so entertaining (and safe!)

In the Details: What makes this setup different, you ask? We've considered what's important for retrofitting on a bike. The most compact slim ballasts from Morimoto with the lightest power draw. The smallest and Bi-Xenon projectors from Morimoto with the best light output that also install with ease. The most appropriate relay harness spaced just right for use on a motorcycle.

Bi-Xenon Projectors: Morimoto's most modern bi-xenon, the Mini H1 7.0, was an instant winner upon launch. Representing the first full overhaul of the Mini H1 since way back when the 1.0 came out, it's now one of the most advanced headlight projectors in the world today. Revised reflector optics paired with their curved cutoff shield produces one of the widest low beam patterns we've ever seen, and a high beam that will easily go the distance. Kuria Optic clear lenses maximize intensity throughout, and keep the cutoff line sharp, colorful, and attractive. New side-action solenoids are more than 3x stronger than the old and fussy vertically-sprung units. Result: Maximum light on the ground, zero glare to oncoming traffic.

Shrouds: Basically, they're the trim piece that adds the finishing touch to your new headlight retrofit. They cover the projector after it's installed to restore the factory-finished look inside the housings. With so many different shapes, sizes, and designs available, we really recommend picking one that suits the geometry inside of your headlights, and also your personal preference on how they look.

HID Ballasts: Designed in California by Morimoto's engineer, Yoshi Ishida, the Morimoto XB 2.0 HID Ballasts are just as good looking on the outside as they are well-engineered on the inside. They are available in both 35w and 50w versions, use proprietary software by the pros at Hylux paired with packaging perfection from the masters at Morimoto. This is today's most modern iteration of a model that has sold more than half a million units since inception, and we don't think it can really get any better!

H1 HID Bulbs: Homegrown by Morimoto to out-perform any alternatives on the market when installed in projector-based headlights--and it shows. We admit the latest generation XB HID bulbs are pretty impressive when compared to other bulbs, and even older Morimoto bulbs. At the heart of the XB bulbs is their perfectly-aligned 100% Philips quartz glass capsule that houses high quality halide salts from German-supplier Messer. In our annual lux comparison test, they produced nearly the same lumin Osity (intensity) as the industry benchmark Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K. No, you're not seeing things here, but yes you will be seeing everything at night.

MotoCycle Relay Harness: The Morimoto H4 Dual-Output Motorcycle specific harness is the first and only high-quality harness on the market that's designed for retrofitting HID's into the headlights on motorcycles. It's been a staple in our product line for years as the right go-to for the job. Factory headlight outputs are really only designed to power a halogen light bulb and with the not-so-stable electrical systems on motorcycles - that could mean bad news for the longevity of your upgraded headlights without a harness.

Optional Precision Bulb Holders: Designed by Morimoto in California, the new MotoHo1der utilizes a three-piece design that's way more effective but virtually no bigger overall than the old clip setup. The clever three-piece design provides even pressure on the back of the bulb, ensuring perfect alignment. To be honest, we think it's the single best upgrade to the projector that's ever been conceived since it helps make the most of the awesome 7.0's on the road. Well worth the extra few bucks in the grand scheme of things!

Optional LED Halos: Though LED halos may not be for everybody, if you're looking for the cleanest, most simple, most reliable setup, we highly recommend the Profile Performance Pivot Halos. Not only are they the brightest, most uniformly lit halos currently on the market, but they double as a switchback turn signal with your blinker circuit. The integrated controllers are extremely easy to setup with only three wires (white, amber, and ground) and allow you to run the white mode continuously until interrupted by the signal--at which point they will blink amber. Once the signal stops, the Pivot ring will automatically switch back to its pure white mode.

Optional Housing Sealant: Protection is priceless! When you're putting together a set of high-end headlights, the last thing you want is moisture in 'em the first time it rains outside. RetroRubber is the most effective way to make sure the original seal is fully restored. For the small price, why anybody wouldn't prevent their new headlights from fogging up is beyond us. It'll be the best twelve bucks you've ever spent.

Nothing but the best from TRS!

by

Just purchased these over the blackfriday sale and have not had a chance to install them yet (and won't till atleast march). However, I have these TRS Morimoto kits on 2 of my vehicles already so I have no doubt this one would perform just as great on my bike. I had a ballast fail on me after a few years on one of my vehicles and had a great response from customer service and was no issues getting a warranty replacement sent out. Awesome products and customer service so there is not reason to even consider other sites or brands for my lighting needs!

'07 SV1000SF install

by

SV1000SF (GSXR600 front swap) feel free to check out the projectors on my IG: daniell61_chaos

Alrighty...Where do I start? These headlights are absolutely FANTASTIC! they're cheaper and better and higher quality and fantastic and the install is EASIER than BKmoto headlights!!!

10/10 would recommend these

there is ZERO flickering on start up and running and revving with these mini h1's (and SV's are known to flicker..)

these were by far way easier to install than bkmoto's headlight setup. if you're using a SV housing you actually DONT need extra sealer for the housing. theres more than enough (I only used about 4" on the sides to fill gaps)

looks....these lights look FANTASTIC

the shrouds and projector blend smoothly into the housing even after being sprayed black AND they look darn good with LED parking lights to accent them nicely!!

Overall have around 1000 miles on these lights and however many hours. my only complaint is the ballasts buzz loudly at first start up but meh. if you notice too long you're not riding!

my only recommendation.. get 3M dual lock(white mushroom) velcro to mount the ignitors and the ballasts to your fairings. why TRS includes bolts only I don't understand for the sport bikes.

TLDR: FANTASTIC price. fantastic installation! 10/10 would buy from TRS again.

SV1000S retrofit is amazing

by

I bought a set of Mini H1 6.0's and the dual H4 motorcycle harness during the 4th of july sale without ballasts or bulbs since I thought I had some spares laying around. Turns out I didn't, so I emailed TRS a week after the sale was over to see if there was any chance they would give the sale price combined with the kit price. They hooked me up with both the prorated kit price and the 20% 4th of july discount, and let me apply the free shipping code I got with the first order - I was very happily surprised!

I installed the kit on my 2006 SV1000S over the course of a day and a half (most of that time was because I painted the halogen reflectors black and had to let it dry)

The harness is very well made and more than long enough - I actually need to go back and shorten the ballast/high beam outputs (I was in a hurry to ride so I just bundled up the excess and zip-tied it under the fairing.) The projectors installed easily, and although I did have to use the bulb holder instead of the nut to mount them they show no signs of moving even with v-twin vibration and rough roads.

Overall I am very happy with both the customer service and the product - this wasn't my first time purchasing from TRS and I'm sure it won't be my last.

Just purchased these for my 09 r6 and I went with the demon eyes RGB along with RGB halos and I was sceptical about going with HID but honestly this tech is amazing and I now have the best looking headlight set up EVER!!! So thrilled!!
