In Comparison: The Morimoto Heavy Duty Load Resistors may do the same thing as a cheap golden resistor you can buy for a fraction of the price, but they'll stay much cooler, keep you much safer, last way longer, and look much better doing it!
You got it! A top notch retrofit, a set of expensive LED bulbs, etc....why skimp out on the LED headlight resistors that are sometimes required to keep your car happy while running them? Don't be "that guy" with an expensive set of LED headlights relying on a $1.99 craptastic resistor to keep em running.
Notorious: As a component that's notorious for getting extremely hot when in use, it's not only careless to use a cheaply made automotive load resistor, it's dangerous. Not to mention the fact that the guys selling you those cheapo ones recommend mounting them with double-sided tape. What? that's going to fall off the first time the thing heats up. These MUST be mounted to a metal surface, with screws. Period....and that's why the Morimoto HD load resistors have integrated mounting points.
What's Inside: The extruded aluminum housing of these LED headlight resistors doubles as a heat-sink and outer shell for the resistor. To maximize heat-transfer, that's all one piece. On each end, 14 gauge wiring exits through ceramic ports to prevent anything from coming into contact with any heated surfaces. Everything is properly shielded with additional heat-shrink and capped off with high-quality terminals. From end-to-end the Morimoto HD load resistors are worth their weight, no doubt about it.
Options: The Morimoto HD load resistors are available in a variety of configurations to suit every possible need when it comes to automotive lighting. Whether it's a single LED headlight resistor you need for an LED flasher or to bypass a basic canbus system, a dual resistor for both positive and ground circuits, or the big boy 2015+ Mopar-Spec units (the only ones on the market that actually work for those damn 15+ Mopars!) - Morimoto has you covered!

Better than any other resistor
by CRAIG KAMIKAWA
I installed these to fix my hyper-flash problem, thinking that these were like any other...I was wrong. These are more efficient and don't run nearly as hot as the other resistors I have used. I am going to use these my other other vehicles that I switched out incandescent bulbs for led. I am going to replace my old resistors with these, even though I am not having issues.
Buy these. 100% worth it
by Chris
I snagged a couple of these, because I run switchbacks in my retros. Any one who runs LED anything, knows what these are for, and prob knows about the orange ones. They have melted numerous things, no matter where I mounted them.
When i received these morimoto ones, I swapped one out for an orange one on the driver side. fired both sides up, let it run for an hour. Checked them with my pyrometer. The orange hit 202 F, I couldn get the mori over 132 F. Still hot, but you can pick it up with your hand, and didnt melt the plastic it was sitting on. 70 degrees is a big difference, considering where these things have to be mounted most the time. These things are legit. Buy em

Looks and performs cooler than the rest
by Alex
Purchased a pair to run with my switchback bulbs. Love the way they look. Also, compared to the common "gold" resistors that I have used in the past, these run cooler. Also like the splicing connector is comes with since it allows for easy disconnect of the resistor if needed.

Bought four of these to replace the four golden ones I had for my F150 tail lights. Aside from one of the golden ones no longer supplying resistance to the circuit, they all got very very hot. The Morimoto resistors run much cooler and to this day are still working 100% surviving the extreme temperatures and weather of northern Canadian winters. Well done TRS!
Size difference is amazing

The size difference between the Morimoto and the cheap ebay gold versions are night and day. Very impressed.
Works great

I purchased 4 of these for the troublesome 2006-2010 model year Ford Explorer Sport Tracs and Ford Explorers. These resistors offer a quality solution that doesn't overheat itself and still stops all error codes that pop up on the dash when you upgrade the headlight system and the turn signals. They are a little big but for the quality they are worth any extra work needed to mount them up correctly and wire them into your system. Wiring is simple and very straight forward.
