My 05 330ci have seen plenty of miles and the headlights are starting to show its age. With limited options, I thought I gave these replicas a try since 2 other reviewers were raving about them. I will summarize my review into the bad and good:



BAD

-build quality is bad, but to be expected from a replica

-bixenon solenoid is cheap and looks and sounds like it's rusted

-bixenon shield retracts 3/4 down only compared to stock

-the mounting holes do not align 100% to the mounting bracket. I had to drill the holes bigger on the projector to align with the mounting bracket

-the chrome plating is not as clear and clean as OE but again, it's a replica

-and my biggest complaint is the width of the output; it's roughly 1/3 the width of the stock projector and we all know the stock projector is already limited in width. the beam is like a flashlight due to the design of the reflector bowl, which is round instead of an oval shape like the stock projector.



GOOD

-super sharp cutoff due to clear lens

-cheap (but a pair of used bosch OE bixenon projectors can be bought online for roughly the same amount)

-it has a foreground limiter, which I like because it reminds me of the TLs





I tried swapping my authentic ZKW lenses in place of the replica lenses and it totally messed up the output regardless of any adjustments. I then tried swapping the replica bowl with the stock bowl and output was again messed up. Thus, I concluded that this replica projector was tuned in a way that any adjustments or swapping parts will only degrade its output.



Conclusion: If you're looking for a cheap projector to replace your OE bosch bixenon projectors, this is it. But don't expect anything from it except the nice sharp cutoff.

I bought these for a retrofit into my 06 Volvo V50 in which they bolt right in. They come stock with a clear lense which produces a very sharp cutoff line and with the cutoff shield which differs from the OEM shield you get a lot of color. We all know the E46's don't give the widest beam, but they sure do project a lot of light a far distance. For the price paid these offer great value.

I didn't have high expectations for potentially pure Chinesium replicas, but these are surprisingly well made. The projector and shield material feel relatively high quality, and the Bi-xenon solenoids function perfectly with only the 2-pin pigtails. The lenses come crystal clear, and output is relatively good. Beam cutoff is, as with other reviewers, beautifully sharp, and the stock hot-spot is very close to perfect, with almost no need for bulb shimming.



The solenoid isn't perfect and I'm concerned about heat longevity, but otherwise these are a very good set of projectors for $75. OEM E46s can be found used for a similar price, but they're getting old and worn, so these are a good replacement.

These replica projectors are perfect for retrofitting, they come with pre-installed clear lenses which helps shave time off your install process. The cutoff is extremely sharp (probably sharper than the stock E46 projectors). These projectors are worth the extra money so you can do the install right the first time. These high quality projectors even for replicas have improvements that should have been the way the OEM housings were made. Pair these with any bulb of your choice, even a cheaper Morimoto $50 bulb and the light output is fantastic, I feel like I can see much further ahead of me (than my stock halogen projectors with fresnel lenses) without blinding other drivers.
